BLACK AND WHITE (1964)
TOTEM PRESS
IN ASSOCIATION WITH CORINTH BOOKS

Cover Drawing: Mort Lucks

From Gilbert Sorrentino: A Descriptive Bibliography, by William McPheron: "[Black and White] collects the poems that GS wrote in the years 1960-1963 and considered worth preserving...published by Totem/Corinth through the efforts of LeRoi Jones, who had been friends with GS since 1957...Totem was Jones's own press; the Corinth imprint, established by Theodore and Eli Wilentz, owners of the Eighth Street Book Store, had already been publishing avant-garde writers, especially those associated with the Beats and Black Mountain."
